That is amazing news! When you first told me about the rule, I couldn’t quite believe that something like that would exist (and still don’t quite understand why or how I deserve to get such a reduction in taxes), so now that you have actually managed to get it put in place, that really is something awesome!

Geosciences Leadership Shell – Azille, France

“Mr Suurmond has provided tax advice and services for me during my posting with Shell International E and P as a member of the Geosciences leadership team in Rijswijk from 1997 until my retirement in 2003.
My tax affairs were then complicated not only as an expatriate but also by drawn out legal proceedings (divorce) entailing the division of assets and several changes to alimony arrangements. Throughout this period Mr Suurmond prepared and presented a compelling case to the inspectors and although (as always) he warned me that they may take a different view he achieved a significant reduction in my tax charges.

In addition to the specific circumstances above Mr Suurmond handled all double taxation arrangements with the UK/Netherlands tax authorities including income from house rental and pensions from previous employers. He also carried out a comprehensive review of expenditure and ensured that all tax-deductible expenses were included in the annual tax return that he submitted on my behalf. His charges were always modest in comparison to the reductions he achieved in my taxes.

I have no hesitation in recommending Suurmond Tax Consultants to any expatriate worker as a dependable expert in his field.

Many thanks for your as always impeccable services.”

India IT Consultant

“I would like to thank J C Suurmond and staff for their valuable help in handling my Tax return and subsequent refunds. Mr Sander (Suurmond) in particular was very helpful and clear in communicating to me what is definite and what are the possibilities in tax refund.

The communication was clear and precise to help me make the decision. The rates were very accommodative and two tier rates helped
me understand the nature of the cost involved.I would strongly recommend J.C. Suurmond & zn. to expatriates working in The Netherlands and want to benefit a good service and knowledge of Dutch Tax system.”

Consultant – Rochestown, Ireland

“I am an Irish Consultant working Holland who knows very little about tax and have used J.C. Suurmond & zn. Tax consultants to do my tax returns on a yearly basis.

Not only did I find them extremely professional in all communications they also advised me in every way so that any entitlements that I was due I claimed for them.

All my returns were done in a timely manner and all returns due to me where instantly transferred to my account with a very standard fee. Not only did I receive large unexpected refunds I was also confident that my returns in Holland were all up to date.

I would recommend J.C. Suurmond & zn. to any other Irish Consultant who will be working with me in Holland.”

Bailey Total Building Envelope B.V.

“As a UK business owner, now resident in The Netherlands, I have been extremely thankful for the services of J.C. Suurmond & Sons Tax Consultants.
Their excellent knowledge of Dutch tax laws enabled them to steer me through the complexities of doing tax returns in two countries and they have come up with an extremely tax efficient solution. They also were helpful in setting up a Dutch B.V. company as a subsidiary of our operation in England and enabled me to gain the benefit of the 30% ruling.

Their consultants all speak excellent English and are quick to comprehend what is needed, ensuring a very helpful, friendly, and efficient service.

Their long experience with Dutch tax laws and their understanding of how tax systems operate in other countries makes this service very comprehensive and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone requiring tax assistance, be they Dutch nationals or expatriates.”

New Business Director for Shell E&P Middle East – Hampton, U.K.

“I have no hesitancy in recommending Suurmond Tax Consultants to any expatriates, or indeed Dutch Nationals, needing top class tax planning and assistance with tax returns in the Netherlands.

Fast, efficient and very effective; they successfully steered me through the complexities of the Dutch tax system for over ten years achieving excellent results with frequently unexpected and significant refunds.”

“Of special importance to the expatriate in the Netherlands, they are uniquely aware of the interplay between the Dutch tax system and that of the UK in particular and Europe in general. Their excellent service does not end there as I discovered after leaving the Netherlands since when they have continued to assist with a number of residual tax matters concerning property and pension rights in the Netherlands.”

English-Language Communications – Zandvoort

“It is truly a pleasure to endorse J.C. Suurmond as a premier tax consultancy. As a dual national and business owner supplying English-language services (writing, translating, language skills) to major Dutch and international companies.

I’ve always needed a knowledgeable, trustworthy consultant to handle the complexities of my financial and tax obligations on two continents.

When my previous accountant of 20 years died suddenly, a friend suggested to contact J.C. Suurmond, which I did. From our first meeting, I knew I was in good hands. This firm combines broad, in depth expertise, absolute integrity; and a sincere interest in every client. My accounts receive the same careful attention and advice as do those of much larger companies.

I recently retired and am delighted that J.C. Suurmond & zn. will still provide me with impeccable service in future.”
