M-form Netherlands
The ‘M’ in ‘M-form’ comes from migration. This complicated tax return must be submitted for the year in which you enter or leave the Netherlands. We do not recommend completing this form yourself as there is a high risk chance of making mistakes. Perhaps you have received the M-form and are finding the M- form more complicated than you expected. In addition it is possible you have not received it, but do need to submit an M-form. Or perhaps you are afraid of overlooking tax obligations and opportunities for tax benefits. Unlike the regular tax return, the M-form had a deadline of 1 July.
M-form Netherlands
When is it recommendable to hire an international tax advisor?
- If you are moving or leaving the Netherlands and have never filed an M-form before;
- If you have filed a regular tax return instead of an M-form for your first year in the Netherlands;
- If you have to file an M-form for your last year in the Netherlands, in which you received no income here but only kept an apartment;
- If you are wondering if you need to file the M-form together with your partner or separately;
- If during your migration year, you worked partly as an employee and partly as a self-employed person;
- If you are leaving the Netherlands and your family is staying there;
- If you did not register until a year after immigration and you are wondering for which year you need to fill in an M-form.
Your situation
In the situations mentioned above it is wise to let an international tax advisor have a look at your situation. We can look after your M-form Netherlands and advise you on the possibilities according to the Dutch and treaty tax rules. For advice regarding the national tax system of another country, a local advisor will have to be employed, who knows all the ins and outs of this. We are in possession of a vast, international network of advisors.
How can we help you?
Suurmond Tax-Consultants has been advising expats and individuals for more than 35 years. After contacting us it will become clear whether we are the right party to help you.
In a contactform or an e-mail you can explain your situation and ask us any questions you may have. Your situations will be looked at by one of our advisors. On the basis of this, the tax advisor will come back to you for further details. Our hourly rate ranges from €175 to €285 excl. 21% VAT.
If you agree, then the advisor will look at the different aspects which apply to your situation and which elements are important to work on. Then a proposal is made with all the elements included on which you need advice and guidance.
After this, we will update you on the amount of hours which we expect will be required. It is not always easy to make an accurate estimate as we are dependent on information and details from your side as well. In addition, how your case will proceed depends on the response of the tax inspector as well to our argument. If required, a consultation can be set up online or at our office.
The importance of hiring an international tax advisor
If you are entering or leaving The Netherlands, you will want to know for certain that your M-form is done correctly, as you must be compliant. The Tax Office can impose high penalties if your affairs aren’t in order or correctly presented.
At our office you can be certain that you will be supported by experienced advisors and who will provide you with relevant tax advice. You will be able to rest assured that no tax benefits will be overlooked.
Your M-form will be filed correctly and tax-efficiënt and an extension will be requested. Depending on your situation, we might request a bill of exchange, if you filed the wrong tax return. In the most diverse circumstances we are committed to providing complete tax advice.
Moving back to The Netherlands? You know you will have to file an M-form, but what other matters should you take into account?
